"Most People Have No Idea How Good Their Body Is Designed To Feel."
Elen Ruttley -
Remedial Massage Therapist
I grew up in the lower Blue Mountains. After travelling around Asia and Europe for several years, I realised that I wanted to pursue a career in some form of healing. In 2018 I moved to Melbourne to study Remedial Massage Therapy at Melbourne Institute of Massage and Myotherapy. In early 2020 I returned back home to the Blue Mountains and set up Massage in the Mountains.
Massage feels more like a calling than a career to me and I am so grateful to be able to share it with others.
Massage is one of the oldest forms of physical therapy and a symbol of self care. In a fast paced world, we often forget to take care of ourselves. I deeply respect and appreciate all of my clients for taking the time to invest in their physical and emotional wellbeing. It inspires me to do the same.
I love massage because it is a beautiful melding of critical thinking and intuition. My study of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics are invaluable to my work, but I also find that listening to my clients, their bodies and my intuition helps guide me in the right direction.
"Massage has had a positive effect on every medical condition we've looked at."
